Poker is by far the hardest and complex game from the rest of the skill-luck games. Personally I don't like backgammon for the same reason you posted. I am more inclined in giving rummy a chance, prob it will grow in the next years.

One board game I particularly like is called the Settlers of Catan. There is chance involved as you roll dice every turn. Where you start on the board is part skill, but the person that places first also is determined by chance. After all the chance is left behind though, there's a huge strategic element to be found: where and what to build first, trade or not to trade, etc.

Similar to your comment about bluffing, there isn't really that much of it involved, but your resource cards are hidden from the other players and so are some of the cards you can purchase. Since the purchasable cards may contain points towards victory, that is where some bluffing can come into play.

It's quite fun and if you haven't tried it, I suggest you give it a try.

Shame that committee couldn't compromise their way out of a paper bag. No one thinks online poker by itself is the answer to the deficit, but you start adding 20 billion here and 10 billion there and you get to a trillion pretty quickly...

Do you let the playlists run for a set amount of time. or do you just sort of employ your own discretion in terms of choosing when to stop one and start another?

Interesting concept, I've always just tried one soundtrack when playing, usually just a record on repeat, and hadn't thought about really cuing moods and feelings with various ones.

I always go out of my way to bluff people when I hold their "favorite hand" - seems to tilt them 100% of the time.

I always chuckles whenever someone mentions a favorite hand other than aces. I go out of my way to bluff them out of their seat if I pick up that hand, as it's a surefire way to tilt them like crazy.
